Stefano Bonilli was a journalist for ten years for daily Il Manifesto reporting political and union events. In 1986 he founded Gambero Rosso which soon became the most important publishing house for food&wine periodicals and guides. He was editor of monthly Gambero Rosso from 1986 to 2008. In 1999 he created and directed, until 2008, the first European gastronomy television channel, Gamberorosso Channel, first on the Tele Più platform, then Sky tv. In 2002 he created la Città del gusto in Rome, on the Tiber banks: an innovative multimedia structure with tv studios, cooking schools, cuisine theatre. He worked for three years in 1984-85-86 writing for Di Tasca Nostra, he spent two years on the restaurant review columns for daily Corriere della sera Rome edition, and he also collaborated with Europeo, Panorama, Wired. He currently edits the Cucinare collection for Giunti publisher and is also their food&wine consultant. Everyone thinks he always eats well, but for work reasons he ends up eating mostly sandwiches.
