Pier Paolo Cito is a journalistic photographer since 1991. In 1997 he begins working for the Associated Press, covering various events and conflicts around the world. In 2002 he is awarded by NPPA (National Press Photographers Association) for his work on the Etna volcano eruption in 2001 – the same work deemed among Time magazine’s 2001 photos of the year. In 2007 he won the APME (Associated Press Managing Editors) for News Photography. In 2007 he is  finalist for the Pulitzer. In 2008 he wins the Award of Excellence for General News Reporting of Picture Of The Year International. He has organized and participated in several exhibitions, and he holds lessons and seminars on journalistic photography and war journalism in various journalistic institutes in Italy and abroad.
