John Davison is the head of media at Christian Aid. He joined Christian Aid from The Independent where he worked on the news, comment and foreign desks. He has worked for The Sunday Times and as a freelance magazine writer. Within Christian Aid he is a specialist on Middle East affairs and Afghanistan, Iran and Sudan. Christian Aid is a Christian organisation that insists the world can and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. It provides urgent, practical and effective assistance where need is great, tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes.
