Silvio Giulietti began working for Italian public broadcaster Rai as a news cameraman in 1991. He covered conflicts in Slovenia and Bosnia. In 2002 he began collaborating for national Rai television news broadcasts as a video journalist, and throughout the years he reported from Jerusalem, Baghdad and Nassjiria, Iran, the United States for the presidential elections, Yemen for the kidnapping of Italian tourists, Moscow and St. Petersburg for the G8 convention, Lebanon for the work of Italian troops and Afghanistan for the kidnapping of Daniele Mastrogiacomo. He won the Alessandro Ota award 2007 for the reportage on Kabul’s little carpet weavers, regarding the thousands of children that suffer everyday working for eight hours straight with their bare hands and feet.
