Marc Herman is a Barcelona-based freelance reporter on foreign affairs whose articles have appeared in The Denver Quarterly, Harper’s, GQ, Men’s Journal, The Believer and GlobalPost.com. He is author of Searching for El Dorado: A Journey into the South American Rainforest on the Tail of the World’s Largest Gold Rush (2004). One of his interests is how journalism and other writing first published in languages other than English gets ignored in much of the world, even when it concerns important events.
