The panel will explore Al Jazeera’s new media strategy with Moeed Ahmad, head of new media Al Jazeera, and Laith Mustaq, one of the most prominent bloggers on Al Jazeera Talk. The discussion will then focus on the Al Jazeera Creative Commons repository the first broadcast quality footage repository available on the Internet for free download under the most permissive Creative Commons license “attribution only”. The debate will focus on how the availability of free quality footage for legal download is re-shaping the future of video journalism.
