Linda Polman is a Dutch freelance journalist. She publishes her reportages, columns, and analyses in Dutch newspapers and magazines, as well as in newspapers like The Times and The Independent (London), Expressen (Sweden) and Internazionale (Italy). She is also the author of four published books.
Her third book, We Did Nothing, about the UN peacekeeping missions in Somalia, Rwanda and Haiti, was published in six languages and is still being used by a.o. peacekeepers and diplomats as a work of reference. It was shortlisted for the Index on Censorship Award (London) and the Lettre Ulysses Award for the Art of Reportage (Berlin). Her fourth book, War Games – The Story of Aid and War in Modern Times, was published in 2009 as L’Industria della Solidarietà by Bruno Mondadori (Milan). In 2010 the book will also be published in the UK, the US, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Poland. As a war correspondent, with her special interest in international military and humanitarian interventions,  Linda Polman lived and worked in countries like Afghanistan, Haiti, Rwanda, Congo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. When in Holland, she teaches in the School for Journalism in Utrecht and she is guest lecturer for military academies and for several faculties for International Relationships and International Development Cooperation Studies.
